Anne Moebes is a solo law practitioner, writer and speaker who specializes in marketing and advertising law.
Ms. Moebes began her career as a staff attorney at the FCC, later advocating the President’s mass media policy before the FCC and Congress as legal counsel to NTIA, the White House’s telecommunications policy office. She then moved to Los Angeles to practice entertainment law, working in several movie studios’ production and consumer products divisions before assuming a position at Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, where, as VP, Business and Legal Affairs, she headed up the domestic film marketing legal division for 5 years.
It was at Disney that Anne discovered her niche in marketing and advertising law, which was then a little-known practice area.
“It was a blast! It was so much fun to work with such creative people day-to-day. I was always amazed by the wild, sometimes downright zany, promotions they could invent.”
She also realized the need for more resources to help navigate these increasingly-complex laws. “When I started out, I would have given anything for the type of thorough, but concise, content the Legal Savvy® Series now offers.”
So, after leaving the studio, she created the Legal Savvy® Series of books and workshops. Her books, offering plain-English legal guidance and step-by-step tools, and her lively and entertaining workshops, with tales from the trenches, are sought after by businesses, marketers and legal professionals who want to learn the basics of the marketing and advertising laws that impact them and their clients. In addition to her online workshops, Ms. Moebes is also a frequent speaker at conferences, MCLE programs and educational institutions. Learn more about the Legal Savvy® Series.
